Kangana Ranaut starrer 'Thalaivi' is one of the most talked about film these days. The film is a biopic of late actor and former CM of Tamil Nadu, Jayalalithaa. A song from the film titled 'Chali Chali' was released recently and it features Kangana shooting a dance number in a pool like set. It's a recreation of a similar which was filmed on Jayalalithaa herself.

As a promotional tactic for the film, Kangana shared a mashed up clip on Instagram of herself and Jayalalithaa danicng in the similar settings and initiated a Chali Chali challenge. In this challenge, she demanded people to record and share clip of them dancing to her latest song. A fan shared an edited clip of filmmaker Karan Johar dancing to the song and Kangana deemed it the best video of the challenge.

Kangana Ranaut and Karan Johar are projected as rivals in the media after the actress called the filmmaker 'the flag bearer of nepotism'. Karan, however, has dismissed all the allegations and said, "So much has been said about Kangana, me and some kind of rivalry or simmering tension. But at every public event we’ve met, we’ve greeted each other graciously. Whatever may have been said or insinuated in print, I think I’m too old and wise to hold any kind of malice in my heart for anybody. As a filmmaker, I respect Kangana’s talent, craft and what she brings to the table. She is an actor who has proved her mettle and is deserving of the honour. Besides Ekta and Adnan Sami, I am honoured to receive the Padma Shri alongside Kangana."
