Kangana Ranaut, who won the 2024 Lok Sabha elections for the BJP from Mandi, discussed her new political adventure on The Himachali Podcast. The actor-turned-politician said filmmaking is easier than politics. She also said she had been offered political positions many times.

Kangana stated in the interview, I've been invited to enter politics before. Several offers have come my way. After 'Gangster,' I was given a political ticket. At least three terms, my great-grandfather was an MLA. Thus, local authorities approach successful members of such families. Extremely common. My father had offers too. After surviving an acid attack, my sister was contacted to enter politics. Political offers don't bother us.

Kangana said, I follow my passion. Even in cinema, I've acted, written, directed, and produced. If politics requires public engagement, I will do so fully. No obligation. Filmmaking is easier than politics. Politics is hard, like treating difficult individuals as a doctor. Movies are soothing, but politics is not.

Kangana defeated Congress candidate Vikramaditya Singh in Mandi by 74,755. A CISF officer struck her at Chandigarh airport a day after her win. Kangana later posted a video reassuring fans she was well. She next appears in Emergency.
