After winning widespread applause and the coveted National Award for her powerhouse performance in QUEEN Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut seems to be flying on sky and has started dictating terms with Bollywood producers! If you don`t believe read on".
Recently when Kangana was quizzed about working with Ranbir Kapoor, she made it clear that though she would be honored to share space with Ranbir Kapoor but she would not compromise on her role.
"I would surely love to work with Ranbir Kapoor because he has been very supportive and was the first person to compliment me on my performance in QUEEN. I have great regards for him as an actor but I cannot do any role just because it stars Ranbir Kapoor," she informed.
I will never be just a glam doll in a film starring Ranbir Kapoor. If Ranbir Kapoor aspires to act with me than I must have a role at par with Ranbir," she retorted.
It seems Kangana Ranaut is reviving the golden era of the 60`s when great actresses like Meena Kumari, Nargis, Nutan, Asha Parekh etc. dictated terms in Bollywood and producers were compelled to write exclusive stories for them. Remember movies like Meena Kumari`s films EK MANDIR, AARTI, KAJAAL etc. or Nutan`s (SEEMA), Nargis (MOTHER INDIA), Asha Parekh`s (KATI PATANG).
Readers would be surprised to know when Mehboob Khan offered Nargis MOTHER INDIA, she quit the established R.K.Banner.
Nargis in an interview had said, "Raj Kapoor was very angry at me for deserting R.K.Banner but for me as an actress the role of MOTHER INDIA was more lucrative than the glitter and glitz of R.K.Banner."
