Kangana Ranaut is still not able to believe that she is soon going to give life to a role inspired from the life of Madhubala who is considered to be the most enchanting of all the beauties seen in Bollywood till now.

Presently her mind is in a state of trepidation.

The reason is because Kangana fears that for this role in ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbai’ she may not look sufficiently beautiful on screen.

Explaining her situation she says “I have never thought of myself as beautiful. In fact I have always suffered from the lowest self-esteem. Till recently I would look at my pictures and cringe. I still have the pictures from my first portfolio I got done in Chandigarh. They remind me of how ugly I can look.

And to now play Madhubala in ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbai’. How will I do it?”

This film to be directed by Milan Luthria is about the Mumbai of 1970’s and 80’s when the underworld had started to rise like never before. Ajay Devgan plays the role inspired from the persona of the mafia don Haji Mastan and Emraan Hashmi gets to do a character based on the life of the young Dawood Ibrahim.

The flick also dwells into the romance that had brewed up between Haji Mastan and actress Madhubala.

Divulging more on the nature of the movie as well as her character, Kangana says “Madhubala’s role is not as tragic as my other roles. It is basically a very tender romance between this really funny don and this female superstar who cannot understand his personality. My characters have always had a dark and light side. And this one is no exception. But the challenge for me is to look almost ethereally beautiful, like Madhubala”.

Well Kangana, the makers of the film had previously considered many actresses for this role before zeroing in on you. Your incredible performances till now speaks out for you talent and conveys that the film makers who gave you the opportunities were never wrong in selecting you.

Let’s hope this time too will not be any different. So keep your cool lady!
