Kangana & Madhavan stay on as Tanu and Manu

So what if 'Jodi Breakers' hasn't quite gone as per the plans; friends of Madhavan are still vouching for him. Post the aborted run of the film, many wondered if that would adversely impact his much awaited sequel of 'Tanu Weds Manu'. However such fears are unfounded since directed Aanand L Rai is gung go about his original plans and is sticking by it.

For Aanand, Madhavan is Manu and Kangana is Tanu. Period. There are no debates or discussions, says a close associate of the director, It hardly matters to him whether Kangana gets a backlash for 'Rascals' or Maddy doesn't quite score brownie points with 'Jodi Breakers'. The cast is staying intact and in fact he is already in conversations with them and putting together the sequel.

There were rumours on the contrary though, especially when Aanand began work with Dhanush on 'Raanjhanaa' and now almost has Sonam Kapoor on board. Since he had moved on to his next film, many wondered if 'Tanu Weds Manu' sequel had been done away with.

No, that's impossible, says Aanand, I am doing 'Raanjhanaa' because that's a story I wanted to get out of my system. Of course there were temptations to begin work on the sequel though. However that would have to wait for a while.

Now whether that would go on floors immediately after 'Raanjhanaa' or even later is sonething being pondered iver. However Aanand is clear about his choice of actors.

Why are we even talking about that, he smiles, The sequel cannot be made without Madhavan and Kangana. They are not just my characters but also my friends. They have to be a part of it, simple.
