Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut had made her debut in Tamil with the Jayam Ravi starrer Dhaam Dhoom directed by cinematographer Jeeva, and now the actress is making a return to Tamil films with the movie Thalaivi which is being directed by AL Vijay and produced by Vibri Media works.

Thalaivi is the biopic of late former Chief Minister of Tamil nadu and actress Jayalalithaa and this movie will have actor Arvind Swami acting as star and former chief minister MGR. Teasers and photos from the movie have been released regularly and the team is planning to release Thalaivi on June 26 this year.

In a recent interview, Kangana Ranaut has revealed that she has discussed with AL Vijay and has told him that if Thalaivi succeeds, he must make another movie with her, and that movie must be about Kannagi. Kangana said that Kannagi is a strong woman and her story will be an epic, and wants to do the Kannagi movie only in Tamil. Kangana also revealed that she got to learn about Kannagi from script writer Vijayendra Prasad.
