New Zealand scored their highest score in Tests by posting 715/6 declared at home in Hamilton against Bangladesh in the first test of the ongoing series. Captain Kane Williamson slammed a sparkling double century and declared the very ball he reached the milestone. He also has now become the fastest New Zealander to 6000 test runs.
The openers Jeet Raval and Tom Latham too treated themselves to centuries scoring 132 and 161 respectively while Henry Nichols and Colin de Grandehomme raced to fifties. Bangladesh are tottering at 174/4 still needing 307 runs to make the Kiwis bat again at stumps on day 3.
