'Ennu Ninte Moideen' which is based on the real life love story of Kanchanamala and Moideen has encountered strong opposition by Kanchanamala herself. She alleges that the team has violated her trust and that if they continue with the film, there would be no point in her staying alive.

The issue that Kanchanamala has, is regarding sequences in the story, which she feels does not do justice. She says that though director Vimal and actor Prithviraj was solicitous in the beginning about changing the script according to her wishes, they are now not even bothering to attend her calls. Now Kanchanamala wants her and Moideen's name removed from the entire project and shoot it as a fictional movie, as current script is not at all her story. She wants no resemblance of her to reflect in the movie if they are continuing with the present script. Also, all the posters and images which features her and Moideen has been requested to be removed.
