Sivakarthikeyan's upcoming movie Kanaa is releasing on December 21 amidst strong competition from Dhanush's Maari 2 and Vijay Sethupathi’s Seethakathi. Aishwarya Rajesh plays the lead role in the movie as a female cricketer. The effort she had put into the character was evident in the teaser and trailer of the movie, hence expectations are now high.

Sathyaraj, who is doing a cameo in the movie, plays the role of Aishwarya’s father. It was recently revealed that ‘Murugesan’ is the name of his character, while the name of Aishwarya’s character, ‘Kausalya Murugesan,’ has been announced already.

Sivakarthikeyan makes his debut as a producer, while his close friend Arunraja Kamaraja has directed the movie, and Dhibu Ninan Thomas has composed the music.
