Superstar Rajnikanth had recently struck silver screens with his 165th film Petta, the action thriller directed by Karthik Subbaraj, and the film which was released on January 10, clashing with Thala Ajith starrer Viswasam directed by Siva, has crossed the milestone of 100 crores and is running successfully.
Petta featured an ensemble cast including Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi, Trisha, Simran,Bobby Simha, Nawazuddin Siddiqui among others, and one of the important actors who had appeared in a relatively smaller role was Manikandan Aachari who had gained fame with his performance in the Malayalam cult flick Kammatipadam which won him Kerala State award.
Manikandan played one of the member's of Kaali's team out for revenge on Singar Singh in Petta, and his dialogue Kola mass sir in a dialogue where Rajni wields the gun, was loved by fans. After Petta, Manikandan is now a part of Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi's Maamanithan as well, where he will play his friend reportedly. Directed by Seenu Ramasamy, Maamanithan has music by Ilayaraja, Yuvan Shankar Raja and Karthik Raja.
