K.N.T.Shastry (“Thila Daanam” fame) directed “Kamli”, is 75% complete.

The director speaking on the occasion said, “The shooting of the film will be completed by 22nd of this month. We have shot the film at places like Rock Castle, Jillalaguda P.C. Thanda, Champa Peta Slums and open drainages and on the roads of the Hyderabad. Real life incidents in the lives of Lambada Thanda inspired me to do this film. It deals with day-to-day happenings in the lives of Laborers and the pains they undergo to come grips with the realities of life. The performance of Nandita Das in the film is very natural and down to earth. Her performance epitomizes the entire Lambada community”.

Shafi, Thanikela Bharani, Rupa Devi and L.B.Sriram are also part of the film. It is produced under the Apoorva Chitra Banner. The dialogues are by Venu Gopal and the music is by Issac Thomas. The camera is by Malayalam camera man Sunny Joseph. The story, screenplay and direction are by K.N.T.Shastry.
