Kamal Haasan hoisted his party flag which is three arms interlocked into each other with a star in the middle and the party name is Makkal Neethi Maiyam (Peoples Justice Center). He stated that he is not the leader but the people are the leaders.

He stated in Rameswaram that people should no longer see him as a film star but a lamp that belongs to the people's houses.

Kamal had instructed his fans not to spend money on garlands and shawls but if at all they wanted to gift him something it could be medicines and notebooks for the poor which the presented him and he collected them in his car.

In the evening at 7pm Kamal reached the Othakadai ground opposite the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University where thousands waited. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal flew down to Madurai from the capital to grace the occasion and so did various film personalities. Kamal on his way to the venue picked up Kejriwal from the state guest house and both of them travelled together in the same car.
