Superstar Rajinikanth celebrated his birthday on Tuesday and a large number of Indian film celebrities from Bollywood superstars to newcomers in Kollywood and also the fans flooded the social media with wishes for the legend. 

Probably for the first time Rajinikanth's close friend and professional rival Kamal Haasan wished him for his birthday in a public platform. Kamal who has been busy shooting for 'Viswaroopam 2' in the USA wished him on the night of 12th December as per IST, which is the morning of the same day in USA.

Kamal's tweet in Tamil said "Long live Brother Rajini with good health. I am in USA for VR shoot. Here 12th December dawned only a few hours back.  My wishes for his successes to continue."

சகோதரர் ரஜினி வாழ்க நலமுடன். இனிய பிறந்த நாள் வாழ்த்துக்கள். விஸ்வரூபம் 2 வேலையாக. அமேரிக்காவில் உள்ளேன். இங்கு இப்போதுதான் சில மணிகள் முன் பிறந்தது 12 ஆம் தேதி. வெற்றிகள் தொடர வாழ்த்துக்கள்.
