After the launch of his Makkal Needhi Maiam, Kamal’s direct political and social opinions have become the talk of the town. More especially his recent statements as to why a total liquor prohibition in the state is not the answwer to reduce consumption. Kamal also strongly impressed upon the need to check the easy availability of alcohol.

However, media outlets took a little too liberty in projecting Kamal’s statements so much as to the point that his opinions have reached an almost different context among the masses that he was in support of TASMAC. Kamal took to his social page to clarify on this issue in his social page stating that that context in which it was implied is totally wrong and if not such media outlets will be subject to serious accusations.
