Kamal Haasan, who has been slow when it comes to completing ambitious projects, will have three good releases this year. This is music to all his fans, which includes almost every cine-goer!
The actor himself has categorically said that Vishwaroopam-2 will release in this year. When the first part was released in Jan 2013, the film got mired in a controversy, which actually helped the film's BO performance!
Come April, his comedy-action film where he is playing Ramya Krishnan's husband and Shruti Haasan's father, will go on the floors. To be shot entirely in the US, it will be directed by TK Rajeev Kumar. Kamal adds that"the nearest the film will come to will be Michael Madana Kama Rajan." If anything, the action will be more than what was there in MMKR.
After this film, his thriller with Rajesh M Selva, the director of Cheekati Rajyam (Thoongavam), will go on the floors.
Interestingly, all the three films are written by him.
As for those who have been waiting for Marudhanayagam to take off for many years, here is the good news. A film producer-friend of Kamal has promised help anytime as and when he wants to revive the project. However, Kamal is more ambitious than he ever was about this film. This could come true if Lyca Productions joins hands with him. He wants to make it an international release. Most probably, we are in for something big like Baahubali - in terms of the scale, and also the budget. Jean-Claude Carriere, the French screenwriter, has co-written the story. Kamal says that Jean-Claude feels Marudhanayagam is still relevant.
