The Distributors of Lingaa` were hounding Rajinikanth for the past few months demanding refunds for supposed losses incurred by them by distributing the film. The Superstar was involved in the project strictly as an actor and was not liable, but out of magnanimity shelled out a huge amount from his own pocket to amicably settle the issue.

Kamal Hassan in a recent press conference did not see Rajini`s action as justifiable and said it would have repercussions in the future as cinema is art for the creative artists and business for the investors. Hence profits and losses are part and parcel of the game and he questioned whether the distributor will refund the ticket amount if the viewers demand it for an unsatisfactory film.
