Boat club is the poshest and costliest area in Chennai which is also the home of many political leaders, business tycoons and film stars. On Boat Club Road, it is common to see Rolls Royces, Lamborghinis, Porsches, Jaguars and Audis whiz past us.

Boat Club is home to Chennai’s top businessmen, including N. Srinivasan (India Cements), Venu Srinivasan (TVS Motors), Shyam Kothari (Mukesh Ambani’s brother-in-law) and Kalanithi Maran (Sun TV). Families of business conglomerates like TTK, MRF, Murugappa and Ceebros also reside her.

The new member to call it home is our Ulagha Nayagan Kamal Haasan. Kamal who was residing in a plush suite room at a luxury hotel in MRC Nagar, Santhome until recently moved to yet another plush spacious apartment complex in Boat club road. The place where Kamal has moved in is said to be the residence of a diplomat, who moved out last month.

On the professional front, Kamal is currently shooting for his upcoming film 'Vikram' directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The film also has Vijay Sethupathi, Fahad Faasil and Kalidas Jayaram in lead roles. He is also most likely to resume shooting for Indian 2 after completing Vikram.
