Kamal Haasan, who recently called on the Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan, has saluted the dignitary for his government's decision on recruiting 36 non-Brahmin priests by the famous Travancore Dewaswom Board. The board also controls the world-famous Sabarimala Ayyappa temple. The decision was possible because of the Kerala government's push.

"Bravo Travancore Dewasom board. Salute to Kerala CM Mr. Pinarayi Vijayan for appointing 36 non-Brahmin priests. Periyar's dream realized," Kamal tweeted on Monday.

Of the 36 non-Brahmin priests, six of them are Dalits.

There is a speculation that Kamal will launch his political party on his birthday on Nov 7th. Recently, he caused confusion when he said that he is ready to work in tandem with the BJP if it "benefits the people".
