The director of Kamal Haasan's trilingual 'Sabash Naidu' has been changed. As T.K.Rajeev Kumar has fallen ill, Kamal Haasan the lead star, writer and producer of the flick will himself direct the film in its totality.
The film's shooting took off in Los Angeles, USA last week. Kamal announced that he is directing the initial song sequence as Rajeev was unwell. This was supposed to be a temporary arrangement as Rajeev was expected to get well and take charge soon.
But now it has been confirmed that Rajeev is affected by Lyme disease, an infection prevalent in Europe and North America. Kamal has said that Rajeev has been put in one of the best hospitals in US and an executive from the Raj Kamal Films International has been keeping vigil over the treatment given to the veteran filmmaker.
More than 85% of the film will be shot in LA and the team plans to wrap up the entire portions within the end of July or first week of August. Hence Kamal has taken the tough decision of replacing his good friend with himself as the team can not afford to wait for Rajeev's recovery. Kamal also assured that he will work with his 'Chanakyan' director in near future.
Direction is not a new job for Kamal Haasan as he has directed three film 'Hey Ram', 'Virumandi' (Pothuraju) and 'Viswaroopam' and all the three have made their way into the list of most memorable films of the multi-talented star.
'Sabash Naidu' that is being made in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi languages has Kamal as the RAW Agent Balram Naidu, Shruthi Haasan, Ramya Krishnan, and Brahmanandam play other important characters in the film. Saurabh Shukla will be replacing Brahmanandam in the Hindi version titled as 'Kundu Naidu'. Isaignani Ilaiyaraja is doing the musical score for all the three versions.
