Both Kamal Haasan and Prakashraj hail from K Balachander's school, and when their mentor passed away recently, Kamal promised Prakashraj that he would be like his elder brother.

The 'Ulaga Nayagan', who has cast Prakashraj in a key role in 'Thoongaavanam', says it was his 'Vasool Raja' and 'Vettaiyadu Vilyadu' co-star who suggested him to make 'Thoongaavanam' in both Tamil and Telugu (as 'Cheekati Rajyam').

The film directed by Kamal's longtime associate Rajesh M Selva hit the floors in Hyderabad on Sunday. Trisha is playing a key role in this flick, produced by Raajkamal Film International. Music is by Ghibran.
