Kamal’s take on court order urging Lokayukta

Lokayukta is an anti-corruption ombudsman organisation in the country which has jurisdiction over all the members of the parliament and even central government employees. But sadly, Tamil Nadu is one of the states that do not have Lokayukta. However, the Supreme Court has now urged the state to consitute a Lokayukta in addition to refuting the reasons the state has offered for not setting it up.

Taking note of this order by the government, Makkal Needhi Maiam’s Kamal Haasan has registered his opinion in his social page. Asking the government to follow the order with no delay,he also stated that people should insist on it. “Lokayukta will be cure for the disease called corruption,” he added.
