It has been said that Kamal Haasan recently expressed his willingness to ally with the BJP if the latter recognizes the plurality and multi-faceted culture of Tamil Nadu.

This has confused many of his supporters, most of him see in him an anti-BJP voice. But what did the 'Vishwaroopam' and 'Indian-2' actor recently say? Here are his words: "I cannot change my DNA. In my opinion, no one is untouchable. But one can also not change Tamil Nadu's DNA. Any party coming for a political alliance will have to respect the plurality and multi-faceted culture of Tamil Nadu".

So, the actor-turned-politician has only made a conditional statement.

It must be noted that Kamal has been critical of BJP rule and local BJP leaders have made strong criticisms against him. Some of them have also made cheap abuses against Kamal Haasan's personal life. So it still looks unlikely that Kamal will form an alliance with the saffron party.
