We had earlier reported that Ulaganayagan Kamal Hassan will be meeting with the Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Bannerjee. Kamal was in Kolkata to participate in the 23rd International Film Festival .

Pertaining to this, Kamal had expressed his feeling regarding his visit with the lady Chief Minister. “Thank you Mamataji for inviting me again and again and honoring the best of my cinema family. I feel pride to be a part of this family,” Kamal quoted.

Furthermore Kamal also touted that it was the best example for ‘unity in diversity’ and wished the CM a happy journey who is soon to leave for London. “This is a great example for unity in diversity. Bon Voyage for your London trip,” Kamal said.

Eventhough the duo’s visit didn't outwardly seem to hold any political significance, it should be noted that Kamal has been laying a strong groundwork for his political career by forming good relationships with national politicians such as Kerala’s Pinarayi Vijayan and Delhi’s Arvind Kejriwal.
