Kamal Harris kickstarts US Presidential campaign with Bollywood twist

As Kamala Harris’s campaign for the US presidency gains momentum, Indian-American leader Ajay Bhutoria has unveiled a Bollywood-inspired anthem, “Nacho Nacho,” aimed at mobilizing the South Asian community in key battleground states.

The 1.5-minute music video, featuring a blend of traditional Bollywood melodies and a reimagined version of the popular “Naatu Naatu” track from “RRR,” is designed to engage the estimated 5 million South Asian voters in states like Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Georgia.

The video highlights Kamala Harris’s campaign promises, showcasing her commitment to “a brighter future” for Indian-Americans and a departure from the “division” of the Trump era. It includes messages from prominent community leaders in various South Asian languages, adding a personal touch and fostering a sense of inclusivity.

This creative strategy builds upon the success of Bhutoria’s previous efforts in the 2020 election, where Bollywood-themed campaign videos garnered significant attention. The initiative aims to harness the vibrant energy of Bollywood, tapping into the cultural connection and unifying power of music to drive voter turnout.

“Nacho Nacho” is sung by renowned Bollywood vocalist Shibani Kashyap and produced in collaboration with Awesome TV. The song’s catchy tune and energetic visuals are designed to resonate with South Asian audiences, amplifying the message of hope and representation that Kamala Harris embodies.

This campaign initiative emphasizes the growing political influence of the Indian-American community and its crucial role in determining the outcome of the upcoming election. If elected, Harris would make history as the first woman president and the second woman ever nominated for the presidency by a major political party.

With the campaign in full swing, Bhutoria’s “Nacho Nacho” campaign song highlights the power of music and cultural engagement in mobilizing a diverse and influential voting bloc. It underscores the importance of diverse voices and perspectives in shaping the future of the United States.
