Cannes 70 is a bustle of activity, especially for South Indian cinema as Sri Thenandal Studios and Sundar C launched their Sangamithra` there and other filmmakers around the globe are shopping for investors there.

The good news for Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan fans is that the posters of his magnum opus Marudhanayagam` have been put at Cannes signaling a revival and we will soon get investment news about the same. Twenty years back before the Baahubali` phenomenon, it was Kamal, who made heads turn by getting Queen Elizabeth to launch Marudhanayagam` in the presence of Kalaigniar Karunanidhi and Sivaji Ganesan. If only the funding was available at that time, history would have been made much before in Indian cinema. However it looks like the time for Marudhanayagam` has finally come.
