Bigg Boss-2 (Tamil) has courted a controversy because only 10 percent of its workers (host Kamal Haasan included) belong to Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI). Since the producer of the reality show is not a Tamil Nadu outsider, FEFSI has demanded that all its workers should necessarily belong to FEFSI.
The Federation's Chairman, RK Selvamani, most recently convened a press meet to put forth certain demands from the producers. He said that out of the 400 workers employed for Bigg Boss's second season, only 41 or 10 percent of total workers are Tamils. Selvamani further noted that the same problem was there for Big Boss season 1 also but the program host Kamal intervened and ensured that at least 50 percent of those employed are Tamils. Now the show's organisers have again defied the rule and hence the 41 FEFSI workers will not take part in the work as a mark of protest.
More shocking statement of Selvamani is that the host Kamal Haasan is also one among the 41 FEFSI members. Asked if Kamal will also abstain from hosting the show in solidarity with the FEFSI protest. Selvamani said he hoped Kamal Haasan will do the same as he has always stood by the side of employees.
