Kamal Haasan will be the chief guest at the International Film Festival of India that would kick off in Goa on the 22nd of November.

Bollywood actress Rekha will be the other chief guest at the inauguration ceremony. A prominent guest at the function would be popular Tollywood actress Ileana, a Goan by birth. The inaugural ceremony will be hosted by Bollywood actress Amrita Rao.

As a tribute to veteran Tamil director Sridhar who passed away recently, his Hindi film, 'Dil Ek Mandir', would be screened on the occasion.

The Tamil film directed by Priyadharshan 'Kancheevaram' that depicts the lives and times of silk weavers during British India has been selected in the competitive section. This along with Kamal's participation has added pep to the Tamil film industry.
