The 2019 parliamentary elections are nearing and there could also be a by-election for the 18 disqualified ADMK MLAs and two other vacant seats in the assembly. It is more or less confirmed that Kamal Haasan's Makkal Neethi Maiam will be contesting the elections and Rajinikanth has also hinted that his Rajini Makkal Mandram would take a decision on that at the appropriate time.

We conducted a poll on twitter seeking the answer to who among Rajini and Kamal would the common man vote for. 25369 votes were polled and the Ulaganayagan has garnered 56 percent votes while the Thalaivar extracted 44 percent. Though the social media is not representative of the vote bank Kamal's active field work in the political arena could have influenced users to vote for him. Further, Rajini is taking measured steps and is looking for an appropriate moment to officially launch his political outfit and after that, the scenario would surely change.

On the movie front Kamal will be resuming the shooting of his stalled project 'Sabaash Naidu' and later in December 'Indian 2' directed by Shankar. He has also announced that he would be making the sequel to his iconic blockbuster 'Devar Magan' costarring Sivaji Ganesan.

Rajini's mega flick '2.0' directed by Shankar is releasing on November 29th and his 'Petta' directed by Karthik Subbaraj is expected to release on Pongal 2019. It is also rumoured that the Superstar is likely to act in few more projects to be directed by A.R. Murugadoss, K.S. Ravikumar and others.
