Kamal Haasan, in a televised interview, has squarely blamed former Chief Minister J Jayalalitha for meting out all the troubles he had faced in the run up to the release of Vishwaroopam` in 2013. An emotional Kamal, who had staked his all for making the entertainer, said that he will think of leaving Tamil Nadu if the harassment continued. His film was banned by the AIADMK government on the grounds that it offended the sentiments of a particular community.

He has pressed for re-election in Tamil Nadu and has stated that the present government is like a forced marriage that is thrust on the people who don`t want it. He has also strongly criticized that the legal system is for the people and it should not be a reason for them to suffer four years in the name of democracy. The Universal Star has declared that he will continue to voice his opinions on politics and cause irritation to the powers-that-be.
