Superstar Rajinikanth's 169th film 'Jailer' is all ready to enthrall audiences from August 10th amidst high expectations. The film is directed by Nelson of 'Kolamavu Kokila', 'Doctor' and 'Beast' fame and produced by Sun Pictures in a grand manner. The audio launch of the film was held at the Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai which has become much talked about in social media for the past three days.
Rajinikanth spoke for about 45 minutes at the 'Jailer' audio launch and only his Eagle and Crow story has been highlighted so far. However he also hinted at a major casting coup that could have been a big treat for Tamil cinema fans. Rajini said that the villain role in the film is very powerful and Nelson wanted to cast a legendary actor in the role. The director had urged Rajini to convince the actor who is a close friend of him.
Rajini further explained that he got in touch with his friend and he agreed to do the role. However after much thought his mind did not agree with him as he would have to beat the other actor on screen and he didnt want it that way. Later Nelson too agreed with him and they infomed the friend who asked them to decide whatever they feel is good for the film. It was later decided to cast Malayalam actor Vinayakan.
With this speech netizens have deduced that the actor friend Rajini was referring to is none other than his rival of five decades Kamal Haasan. Fans of both the legends are lamenting that a chance has been missed to see them together on screen after almost three and a half decades. However there is a buzz that Rajini and Kamal will be uniting onscreen again in 'Thalaivar 171' directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Lets keep our fingers crossed.
Coming back to 'Jailer' which has music by Anirudh, has has Jackie Shroff, Mohanlal, Sunil, Tamannaah Bhatia and Shiva Rajkumar in cameo roles. Ramya Krishnan who played the famous villainous role in 'Padayappa' opposite Rajinikanth has paired with him for the first time. The film also has Vasanth Ravi, Vinayakan and Yogi Babu in the cast.
