Kamal Haasan condemns murder of Journalist

Bengaluru based journalist and activist Gauri Lankesh's cold blooded murder on Tuesday night has shocked the journalists and advocates of free speech across the nation. Journalist associations in National Capital New Delhi, Chennai and Bengaluru conducted protest march condemning the killing of Gauri and sought immediate action. The Karnataka Chief Minister Siddharamalingaiah attended the funeral of the slain journalist held at Bengaluru on Wednesday and he has also ordered for a formation of a special team to nab the culprits.
Actor Kamal Haasan who has been a strong advocate of free speech and democracy and also faced severe threats in the post from communal organisations for his films and views has tweeted about Gauri Lankesh's murder. Conveying his condolence to those grieving the demise of the 55 year old journalist, the Ulaganayagan observed that "silencing a voice with a gun is the worst way to win a debate."
