As the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections date is drawing near the political scenario in the state has started to heat up. Yesterday the legendary actor turned Makkal Needhi Maiam president Kamal Haasan filed his nomination to contest from Coimbatore South where he will be locking horns with BJP leader Vanathi Srinivasan.

Kamal in his declaration affidavit has revealed that he has a total assets worth of Rs.176.9 crores out of which Rs 131.8 crores is immovable and Rs.45.09 Crores movable. He has also revealed that he has loans amounting to rupees 49.05 Cr. in his name.

Kamal has also let it be known that he does not have any spouses and that there are no dependants as well as free of any court cases. The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Pazhanisamy has declared that his total assets are Rs.6.67 Crores, Deputy CM OPS - Rs. Rs7.8 crores, DMK leader Stalin - Rs. Rs8.9 crores.

Kamal according to the declaration is the richest candidate in Tamil Nadu amongst all parties followed by his party vice president Mahendran whose combined family assets are worth around Rs. 175 Crores.
