Kamal Haasan to give Rs 1 Cr to deceased technicians

Kamal Haasan has on Thursday announced a compensation of Rs 1 Cr to the three deceased technicians who died due to Wednesday's tragic accident on the sets of 'Indian 2' at Chennai's EVP Studios. The legendary actor is going to give the huge amount from his pocket.

After visiting the hospital in Chennai where ten people who have suffered injuries are taking treatment, the 'Vishwaroopam' actor lamented the absence of insurance for everyone working in the film industry.

Kamal said that Krishna, one of the deceased technicians, had joined the unit just two days ago.

The shocking tragedy is likely to spark a debate in Kollywood and other film industries around safety measures in studios, insurance, etc.
