While the ruling party AIADMK MLAs and Ministers go all guns blazing against actor Kamal Haasan for his criticisms on the Government, the Tamil Nadu's opposition party leader and the DMK's working president M.K. Stalin has offered support to the veteran actor and also vehemently criticized the Government for threatening Kamal Haasan for his criticisms.
In his detailed statement on this issue Stalin said "Kamal Haasan had recently observed that corruption is rampant in all departments in Tamil Nadu and the state has become worse than Bihar in bribery and corruption. For this the ministers of this horse trading-benami Government are passing malicious comments against the actor and they are also threatening him. This is amounts to snatching the basic rights of democracy. It is much worse that the Chief Minister is remaining a mute spectator to this. With his observation about corruption in the state, Kamal has only reflected the thoughts of the people."
Kamal Haasan has thanked Stalin for supporting him. The multi-talented actor has tweeted that he does not have anything else to say apart from "Thanks". The actor also said he is happy that many of his concerns have been echoed in Stalin's statement.
As an indirect caution to the ruling party members, Kamal tweeted, that there is a leader within every voter and the leaders who fail to understand this should not be allowed to continue as leaders in a democracy.
