Actor and Makkal Needhi Maiam president Ulaga Nayagan Kamal Haasan has said that the first terrorist of independent India was a Hindu and that it is none other than Nadhuram Godse who shot dead Mahathma Gandhi, during a recent election campaign public gathering.

Speaking during a campaign in Aravakurichi, Kamal Haasan said that Nadhuram Godse, a Hindu was the first terrorist of Independent India and that he did not say as Muslims are present in large numbers there, and added that he had said that long back before Gandhi's statue.

Kamal Haasan also said that he's the great grandson of Gandhiji and that he had come to question his death.He further said that India should be in peace, harmony and maintain equality, and be in such a way that the colors in tricolor remain as such, and that must be the thought of a good Indian. The people who plan to divide and rule must be chased, and terrorism from any religion is wrong, said Kamal Haasan.
