Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and India's legendary cricketer and former captain Kapil Dev, are the other prominent Indian guests who graced the event and greeted the British Queen.
Speaking about the event Kamal Haasan said "I feel proud to have been selected by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this honour. This is the appropriate time to celebrate the historical relationship between India and the United Kingdom. I use to refer to English as a great Indian language that connects all Indians."
Recounting his experience meeting the Queen, Kamal said this in his FB post. "The Queen seemed in good health and remembered her visit to India fondly. The Duke of Edinburgh was in great shape and health as well. The exchange was brief as there were too many people. You might remember during Her Majesty's visit to India, she visited my film set. Probably the only film shooting she had attended in her whole life."
