Kamal Haasan, Sony Pictures Films to produce Sivakarthikeyan's film

Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International has joined hands with Sony Pictures Films India for a Kollywood project starring Tamil actor Sivakarthikeyan in the lead. Written and directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, the film will on the floors soon.
Sony is currently producing Adivi Sesh's 'Major', besides also bankrolling a film with Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran as well. Talking about the collaboration, 'Indian 2' actor Kamal Haasan said, "The power of a well-told story is transformative, and this story will move, uplift and inspire the audience in many ways. I am very proud to be collaborating with Sony Pictures Films India, actor Sivakarthikeyan and director Rajkumar Periasamy to bring this compelling story to the big screen."
Vivek Krishnani, Managing Director, Sony Pictures Films India said that they are glad to be making a foray into Tamil cinema. The banner is seeking to increasingly engage with a new generation as well as veteran creators who are masters in regional cinema and whose storytelling has a global resonance.
Sivakarthikeyan, whose 'Doctor' was a blockbuster last year, said that the prestigious project has a great emotional value for him. He described Kamal as a legendary icon whom he has always admired. As for Sony Pictures Films India, the actor said, it is a global brand.
Kamal, who is currently acting in 'Vikram', added that some projects bring happiness, dignity and honour.
