Ilaiyaraja prefers Kamal over SPB for Gautham Karthik’s intro song

Indiaglitz was one of the first to report that Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan will be singing a song composed by Isaignani Ilaiyaraja for the film 'Muthuramalingam' starring Gautham Karthik and Catherine Tresa in lead roles. Yesteryear heartthrob Karthik acts in an important supporting character in the film and this is the first film for the father-son duo together. Veteran actor Prabhu is also acting in an important role in this flick.

The film's director Rajadurai wanted a vibrant voice for the hero's intro song in this film. He preferred legendary singer S.P.Balasubramaniam for the song but the maestro felt that Kamal Haasan's voice would fit the song and its situation better. Hence the song has been recorded with the multi-talented star recently. It did not took more than an hour to complete recording the song and the entire unit is happy with the outcome.

Veteran lyricist Panju Arunachalam has written the lyrics for all the song sin this film.
