Kamal Haasan's sudden change of plans for Shruti Haasan?

As soon as Thoongavanam' shooting was completed Kamal Haasan announced that his next film will be directed by T.K. Rajeev Kumar with Amala Akkineni and Zarina Wahab as heroines tentatively titled Amma Appa Vilayattu'.
But now we hear that the Kamal has set aside the multilingual comedy film and is planning to make a film with a different script that is going to be completely shot in the US which will bring together Kamal and Shruti Haasan playing dad and daughter on screen for the first time. It is reported that the Ulaganayagan is keen to have Isaigniani Illayaraja on board for this project, but however it is still unclear who the director or the rest of the cast and crew are.
