The India Day Parade was conducted on Sunday August 19th at 11 am at Manhattan, New York in which Kamal Haasan participated as the Grand Marshal along with his daughter Shruti Haasan. The actor turned politician looked very alluring under colorful umbrellas on a decorated cart while the paraders were waving the Indian flags all over.
This is the 38th India Day Parade which is celebrated every year by the Federation of Indian Associations and with attendance of about 2 lakh people is the biggest such parade in America for Indians. The event acts as a "mouthpiece for the diverse Indian-Asian population in the United States," and this year they have honored Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan as the Grand Marshal.
