Kamal Haasan and director Shankar started working on the sequel to their blockbuster 1996 film 'Indian 2' after more than 20 years in 2017. The shooting was halted halfway following some unfortunate events. It was recently announced that 'Indian 2' will be revived soon following the grand success of Kamal's last film 'Vikram'.
Earlier, we updated you that Kamal Haasan has flown to the USA to prepare for 'Indian 2'. As per the latest reports, the legendary actor will return to India soon. Sources say that the shooting of 'Indian' 2' is reportedly planned to resume on August 22 in Chennai. The makers have erected a grand set in a film city in Chennai.
The team will be shooting for the film in Chennai for the next two months and actress Kajal Aggarwal will resume the shooting for the film in September mid. On the other hand, Sathyaraj, Karthik and Nandu Poduval are said to be the latest additions to the cast. However, there is no official confirmation of their participation yet.
The movie also stars Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Bobby Simha, Guru Somasundaram and Samuthirakani. Jointly bankrolled by Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies, it is being speculated that the makers are planning for a June 2023 release. The music is composed by Anirudh with cinematography by Ravi Varman and Rathnavelu and editing by A. Sreekar Prasad.
