Kamal Haasan's recent film 'Vikram', directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, became an industry hit by collecting around Rs 400 crores worldwide. Kamal and Udhayanidhi Stalin confirmed that the long-delayed project 'Indian 2' will be revived following the success of 'Vikram'.
'Indian' is one of the biggest Pan-Indian blockbusters in Tamil cinema. Directed by Shankar, the film featured Ulaganayagan Kamal with music by AR Rahman. In 2018, Shankar and Kamal Haasan were associated with Lyca Productions for 'Indian 2', the sequel. The project got delayed due to a crane accident on the set and the Covid 19.
We already informed you that Kamal Haasan and Shankar will resume working on 'Indian 2' after Shankar wraps up 'RC15' with Ram Charan. According to the sources, the latest is that 'Indian 2' is likely to be restarted on August 22. However, there is no official confirmation in this regard. It is yet to be seen if there will be any change in the star cast.
'Indian 2' also stars Siddharth, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar and Delhi Ganesh in pivotal roles. The film initially starred Vivek and Nedumudi Venu but the reports suggest that the makers might recast different actors for those roles as they passed away. Anirudh is scoring the music for the much-awaited movie.
