Actor Kamal Haasan has criticized the recent protests against IPL which eventually resulted in the Chennai Super Kings matches that were supposed to be played in Chennai, being shifted to Pune. The protesters' demand was the matches be shifted from Chennai until the central government forms the Cauvery Management Board as per the Supreme Court order.
Speaking at an event organized in Chennai on Saturday, the Makkal Needhi Mayan founder, said that the protesters should have marched towards the Fort.St George which is a few kms away from the Chepauk cricket stadium and protested against the 234 players (MLAs) playing with the people's lives. Instead, they marched towards the wrong arena to protest against 22 players.
Kamal said had the protesters gone to protest against the elected representatives of the state, he would have been the first person in the protest. He said Fort.St Geroge needs cleaning up.
