Kamal Haasan says #SpeakOnFreedom

  • IndiaGlitz, [Saturday,January 30 2016]

Days after debuting on Twitter on the Republic Day, the Universal Hero has started engaging with the public on an important socio-political issue.

“Let's speak on freedom, but speak with responsibility not to abuse. To me freedom is not like a fixed deposit in bank safely kept in a vault,” says Kamal Haasan. Describing freedom of speech as something fundamental that "came along with the freedom of this country", the thinking actor says that it has to be protected.

True to his innovative style, the Audio-Visual video in which he is seen, sees him standing behind a jail, symbolically hitting out at the invocation of ambiguous IPC sections like 153A, 295A, etc to muzzle free speech.

Those who want to share their views on the subject have a message coming directly from Kamal himself. "You can send your question by using hash tag #SpeakOnFreedom @iKamalHaasan for @IndiaToday #Twitter #Townhall."
