Kamal Haasan had directed 'Viswaroopam' the last film produced by his home banner Raj Kamal Films International, which was a blockbuster. However, directing 'Thoongavanam' the next venture of the production house has been entrusted to Rajesh.M.Selva, Kamal's erstwhile assistant and a person who has spent many years working for RKFI.
In an exclusive interview to Indiaglitz. the legendary actor opened up on why Rajesh was chosen for the most vital job of directing 'Thoongavanam', Kamal said, "We decided to hand over the direction responsibility to Rajesh M Selva after facing a lot of obstacles. When everything goes wrong, all that matters is how well a person handles the situation. He has been travelling with me for years and fought with me in all the problems. People who are struck in Raj Kamal Films International will definitely a get break like this, if they won't leave the company mid-way."
Kamal`s decision to churn out quickies by wrapping up the shoot schedules in amazingly short periods, backed by extreme planning has also made him sacrifice his urge of filmmaking. "When I direct a film I have to spend three-four months on it alone. When I want to increase the quality of films at a rapid pace, film direction is something that I have to sacrifice."
In the meantime, Kamal Haasan has directed is Viswaroopam 2` which has been produced by Ascar Films banner. The shooting is over and the post-production work including the CG works are underway.
Thoongavanam` which was completed in a record speed of 38 days will be having a grand release on Deepavali day falling on November 10. The response to advance bookings for the film across the globe are nothing short of phenomenal.
