Kamal Haasan started his own production house Raaj Kamal Films International in 1981 with the classic film film 'Rajapaarvai' directed by Singeetham Srinvas Rao. In these four decades he has produced several memorable movies that include ''Kadamai Kanniyam Kattupaadu', 'Sathya', 'Apoorva Sagotharargal', 'Kuruthi Punal', 'Devar Magan' , 'Hey Ram', 'Virumandi', 'Vishwaroopam' and most recently 'Vikram' directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj which is the second highest grossing film in Tamil cinema history.
Kamal revamped his production house during the past few years and announced that other big stars will be starring in his banner. Currently four movies are under production namely 'SK 21' directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy and starring Sivakarthikeyan, being shot in Kashmir. Next in line is 'KH 233' starring Kamal himself and directed by H Vinoth. There is 'STR 48' starring Simbu and directed by Desingh Periyasamy, and 'KH 234' directed by Mani Ratnam which is coproduced by Madras Talkies and Red Giant Movies. These films have officially been updated on the social media pages of RKFI.
Apart from these there are other biggies loading in the Kamal camp that includes the Pradeep Ranganathan - Vignesh Shivan - Anirudh project, Dhanush- Nelson- Anirudh project and 'STR 50' directed by Mani Ratnam. There is also a high chance of Kamal producing and costarring in Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Thalaivar 171' directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and 'Vikram 3' starring Suriya also directed by Lokesh. These projects are in the nascent stage and will materialise only in 2024.
Apart from all these production ventures Kamal is also acting in the pan Indian projects 'Indian 2', 'Kalki 2898 AD' , 'Indian 3' and is in talks for 'NTR 31' directed by Prashanth Neel, 'SSMB 29' directed by S.S. Rajamouli and many others with top directors. Looks like the Ulaganayagan has much more to give for Indian cinema in his old age too.
