Kamal Haasan has stated that he is disappointed by the Supreme Court's verdict on the 11 year Cauvery Water dispute case filed by Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Pondicherry challenging the verdict of the Kaveri Tribunal Verdict. The highest court today in its sensational final verdict has asserted that no state can claim ownership to the Cauvery river. Karnataka has also been ordered to provide 177.25 DMC, which is 14.75 DMC less than the tribunal which awarded it 192 DMC.
Kamal is also of the opinion that the firm decision that the supreme court has taken is of some consolation as well. The politician in the making has added that though the verdict of the supereme court is disappointing steps should be taken to use the water judiciously. He has requested politicians to abstain from raking up the Cauvery issue for vote politics and that the farmers of both the states should share the water peacefully. The Ulaganayagan also requested the people to take steps to safegaurd ground water level even if the rulers fail to do so.
