After a crime thriller like Cheekati Rajyam (Thoongavanam in Tamil), Kamal Haasan is doing a family entertainer titled Amma Nanna Aata. Shruti Haasan is playing Kamal's daughter in this movie.

The news is that Ramya Krishnan has been roped in to play Kamal's wife in this TK Rajeev Kumar-directed movie. Ramya Krishnan has been in an unprecedented limelight, something comparable only to the kind of popularity she got after her Neelambhari avatar in Narasimha (Padiyappan), ever since the release of Baahubali in 2015. Besides Kamal's film, she is cast in a prominent role in Krishna Vamsi's multi-starrer Rudraksha.

As for Amma Nanna Aata, this is a Telugu-Tamil bi-lingual being produced by Kamal himself. It will be shot for the most part in the US. Maestro Ilayaraja will score the music, most probably.

The last time Kamal Haasan and Ramya Krishnan were seen together, playing husband and wife, was in the 2002 film Panchatantram.
