The Citizenship Amendment Bill which had been proposed by the central government lead by BJP has been facing huge opposition, and though the Tamil Nadu government lead by Edappadi Palanisamy has also supported the move by BJP, other parties have been against it.
Besides politicians, several actors have also been opposing and tweeting against the CAB, and after actor Siddharth's statement that if Tamil Nadu was being ruled by Jayalalithaa, this would not have happened, and that he is ashamed to say Chief minister Edappadi is from his state.
Now actor and Makkal Needhi Maiam president Kamal Haasan has asked some sharp questions on the bill, and he has tweeted "Why are Tamils who are subjected to a methodic genocide and Muslims facing discrimination, be excluded from the bill? If it’s a genuinely benevolent bill and not a vote garnering exercise, then why won’t this CAB stop to pick up stranded Tamils & troubled Muslims of Srilanka?".
