Since the past few years, releasing the digitally remastered version of yesteryear Tamil films has been slowly catching up as a trend. Nadigar Thilgama Sivaji Ganesan's classic mythological film 'Karnan' was released in 2012 and it completed 100 days of theatrical run. MGR starrers 'Aayirathil Oruvan' and 'Adimai Pen' and Jayalalitha starer 'Suryagandhi' were also released in digitized format in the recent years.

Most recently Superstar Rajinikanth's 1995 blockbuster 'Baasha' was released in theaters across Tamil Nadu including some prime screens in Chennai. The film made huge collections with houseful shows for around a week's time

Now it is reliably learnt that the Kamal Haasan starrer will be released in a digitally remastered version.

It is said that the 1989 multi starrer film 'Vetri Vizha' directed by Prathap Pothen with Kamal Haasan, Prabhu, Khushbu, Amala and Sasikala in prominent roles, will be digitized and re-released soon. The source also adds that the digitization process is nearing completion and the release date will be announced soon.

'Vetri Vizha' was produced by the prestigious Sivaji Productions banner and it had the music score of Isaignani Ilaiyaraja.
